1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) constitute a legally binding agreement between you (“User,” “you,” or “your”) and AutoUML (“we,” “us,” or “our”) governing your access to and use of the AutoUML website at https://autouml.com and the application at https://app.autouml.com(collectively, the “Service”).

By accessing or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

2. Description of Service

AutoUML is a free, web-based software tool that enables users to generate Unified Modeling Language (UML) diagrams using artificial intelligence. The Service includes:

• AI-powered generation of UML diagrams from natural language descriptions, including Class Diagrams, Entity Relationship (ER) Diagrams, Sequence Diagrams, Use Case Diagrams, and Activity Diagrams.
• Import and rendering of PlantUML code scripts.
• Diagram editing via an interactive canvas.
• Export of completed diagrams as PNG or PDF files.
• A Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) feature allowing users to connect third-party AI API keys for expanded generation capacity.

AutoUML is provided as-is for personal, educational, and professional use. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time with or without notice.

3. Access & Eligibility

The Service is available free of charge and requires no account creation or registration. You may access AutoUML directly from your web browser.

By using the Service, you represent and warrant that:

• You are at least 13 years of age. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or legal guardian's permission to use the Service.
• Your use of the Service does not violate any applicable law or regulation in your jurisdiction.
• You are not located in a country subject to applicable trade sanctions or embargoes.

4. Acceptable Use

AutoUML is designed to be a productive tool for developers, students, and engineering teams. You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of others or restrict their use and enjoyment of the Service.

You May Not:

• Use the Service to create, transmit, or distribute content that is illegal, harmful, defamatory, obscene, or violates the rights of any third party.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service, its infrastructure, or related systems.
• Use automated tools, bots, scrapers, or scripts to abuse the free AI generation quota, circumvent rate limits, or overload our infrastructure.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of AutoUML.
• Use the Service in any way that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair the Service or its servers.
• Misrepresent AutoUML as your own product or remove any branding, copyright, or attribution notices.
• Use the Service to generate content that promotes violence, discrimination, hate speech, or illegal activities.

5. Intellectual Property

5.1 AutoUML Intellectual Property

The AutoUML name, logo, website design, code, and all associated materials are the exclusive intellectual property of AutoUML and are protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from AutoUML's proprietary materials without our express written permission.

5.2 Your Content & Generated Diagrams

You retain full ownership of the text prompts you enter and the UML diagrams generated using AutoUML. We do not claim ownership over diagrams you create. You are free to use, modify, publish, and distribute your diagrams for any lawful purpose without restriction.

5.3 Feedback

If you submit feedback, suggestions, or ideas to AutoUML, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, incorporate, and build upon that feedback without obligation to you.

6. Third-Party Services & API Keys

6.1 AI Model Providers

AutoUML integrates with third-party AI services including Google Gemini, OpenAI, and xAI Grok to power diagram generation. Your use of these providers through AutoUML is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies.

6.2 Bring Your Own Key (BYOK)

The BYOK feature allows you to use your own API keys from supported AI providers. By using this feature, you acknowledge that:

• Your API key is stored solely in your browser's local storage. AutoUML does not transmit or store your API key on our servers.
• You are solely responsible for all costs, usage, and compliance with the terms of your chosen AI provider when using your own API key.
• AutoUML makes no representations about the reliability, availability, or output quality of third-party AI models.

6.3 Analytics & Advertising

AutoUML uses Google Analytics and Google AdSense. Your interaction with these services is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

7. Advertising

AutoUML displays advertisements served by Google AdSense to support the continued development and free availability of the Service. Advertisements are subject to Google's advertising policies.

You agree not to engage with advertisements in any manner intended to generate fraudulent impressions or clicks, including using automated tools, encouraging others to click ads, or any other form of click fraud. Such activity constitutes a violation of these Terms and Google's policies and may result in legal liability.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

• The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure at all times.
• Generated UML diagrams will be syntactically perfect, architecturally complete, or suitable for any specific use case without review.
• The AI models integrated into AutoUML will produce results that meet your expectations or requirements.
• Any errors or defects in the Service will be corrected within a specific timeframe.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, AUTOUML AND ITS OPERATORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or USD $50 if you have not made any payments.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of liability for certain damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability shall be limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless AutoUML and its operators from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to:

• Your use or misuse of the Service.
• Your violation of these Terms.
• Your violation of any applicable law, regulation, or third-party rights.
• Any content you input into the Service.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, without notice, for conduct that we determine in our sole discretion violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, third parties, or the integrity of the Service.

As AutoUML does not require user accounts, termination refers to blocking access via IP address or other technical means in the event of abuse. You may discontinue use of the Service at any time.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this document. We may also provide notice on our website.

Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, please discontinue use of the Service.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If resolution is not possible, disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of competent jurisdiction.

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
